Charles Dickens and A Christmas Carol

One of the UK’s greatest writers of novels Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843 – two years after the first Christmas tree was put up in Britain by Prince Albert and the same year as the first Christmas Card was sent.

This story popularised the revival of Christmas traditions and celebrations and in some ways leads us to the Christmas that we celebrate today.
